A steady breath leads to a steady mind.  “Pranayama is about to control of Breath”. “Prana” is Breath or vital energy in the body. On subtle levels, prana describes the pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and “Ayama” means control. So Pranayama is “Control of Breath”.

One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve a healthy body and mind. Patanjali in his text of Yoga Sutras mentioned pranayama as a means of attaining higher states of awareness, he mentions the holding of breath as an important practise of reaching Samadhi. Hatha Yoga also talks about 8 types of pranayama which will make the body and mind healthy.

Five types of prana are responsible for various pranic activities in the body, they are Prana, Apana, Vyan, Udana & Samana. Out of these Prana and Apana are most important. Prana is upward flowing and Apana is downward flowing. The practice of Pranayama achieves the balance in the activities of these pranas, which results in a healthy body and mind.

This workshop is about learning and practising pranayama techniques to heal, revitalize and recharge both body and mind. Learn about the anatomy of the breath both physical and energetic, exercises for various ailments, meditation and chanting. Pranayama Workshop empowers one with the practice of breathing techniques that can be integrated into a daily routine.

This workshop is designed for those who have a  strong foundation in yoga but wish to deepen their understanding of pranayama practice. Any level students can join us for this workshop either they are beginner or daily practitioners.

This workshop will provide the opportunity to thoroughly deepen the practical aspects of training and continue learning on the rich physical and spiritual benefits of pranayama.
